Manoj Sreedharan, MD

Welcome to OrthoIllinois! I look forward to helping you return to regular activities as quickly as possible and offer a little background about my education, training, and practice.

I consider it a privilege to be able to provide care for people on what could be a very stressful and scary day in their life. The ability to help alleviate the fear and uncertainty that follows an injury motivates me as a walk-in injury care and occupational health physician and draws upon my extensive background in emergency medicine.

My interest in pursuing a medical degree and specialty training can be traced to my childhood in India at age 12 or 13, where watching the reality TV show “Trauma – Life in the ER” on the Discovery Channel resonated with me.

I was accepted to, and earned my medical degree at, Hebei Medical University in a city called Shijiazhuang in a northern province of China. This education was followed by internship training in Shijiazhuang at a local hospital. My years of residency training were spent here in the United States in Rockford at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Those three years were spent in hands-on patient care learning, often at SwedishAmerican Hospital/UW Health with an emphasis on walk-in clinic training, procedural skills, and obstetrics.

Since concluding residency, my practice has centered on trauma and emergency medicine, providing ER care at several regional hospitals and immediate care at a local clinic. This background in emergency medicine provides me with a deep knowledge of personal, sports, and work injury care and appropriate treatment protocols for the best results.

I am multi-lingual, fluid in English, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil, with basic skills in Mandarin. When I am not practicing medicine, I enjoy playing tennis, biking, and spending time with my family and friends.
