Welcome to OrthoIllinois! I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and return to a more active, pain-free life!

Ongoing learning and being skilled in the most advanced orthopedic techniques are key elements in my patient care. I attribute that focus on utilizing the most advanced technology to growing up with a father who was a creative industrial designer that helped his clients improve the function of their products.

It was during my orthopedic residency training at Rush University Medical Center that I became interested in joint replacement surgery. While there, I trained under many of the innovators in hip and knee replacement for which Rush is nationally recognized.

Today, my training in new techniques is on-going. In my practice, I offer my patients the most up-to-date treatments like direct anterior total hip replacement – in fact, I was the first orthopedic surgeon in the area to perform this surgical approach. I also utilize computer-assisted total knee replacement with Orthoalign, rapid recovery minimally invasive outpatient shoulder, hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive shoulder rotator cuff surgery, and repairing shoulder instability, including using the Later Jet procedure.

Striving for the most advanced strategies in joint replacement, patient education, multi modal pain management, physical therapy, and rapid recovery allow my patients to achieve the best outcomes. Educating my patients, thorough and compassionate communication, and delivering the highest level of skilled care have rewarded me with recognition through hospital patient care awards and achieving top tier ratings in patient satisfaction surveys.

I, my clinical and surgical assistant Subil Thomas, PA-C, and my office staff are committed to the highest standards of care and will work with you to identify the best treatment course for your individual needs.

When not practicing medicine, I enjoy spending time with my children and family in northern Wisconsin boating, hiking and skiing, reading historical fiction, and bird hunting with my dog Fitz.
