Connor Kasik, DO

While growing up in LaSalle-Peru, it was my own passion for playing sports that generated my interest in pursuing medicine as a career. After experiencing multiple injuries, I developed an interest in the body’s anatomy and the function of the musculoskeletal system.

This interest led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in preparation for medical studies. I earned my medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. While there, my surgical rotations allowed me to witness the tremendous impact that orthopedic surgeons can have to directly improve a patient’s quality of life and allow them to get back to the activities they enjoy most.

Following medical school, I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren Greater Lansing/Michigan State University, which allowed me to be involved in providing care for the Michigan State University athletes. This experience, along with my personal passion for sports, led me to pursue further, advanced training to specialize in orthopedic sports medicine through a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

During my Fellowship, I had the opportunity to provide orthopedic care for professional sports teams including the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball, USA Men’s Rugby National Team, and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League. I also provided medical services to Team USA Olympic athletes as part of the U.S. Olympic Regional Medical Center.

Today, in my practice as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, I treat a wide variety of bone and joint injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee for athletes and non-athletes. I have a special interest in knee and shoulder minimally invasive arthroscopic surgeries, knee cartilage preservation techniques, tendon and ligament injuries, and complex reconstruction techniques for the shoulder and knee. My practice also includes general broken bone and fracture care, total shoulder replacements, including the reverse shoulder replacement procedure. I am trained in MAKO Robotic-Arm Assisted knee and hip replacement technology to create 3D modeling of each patient’s unique anatomy for a personalized surgery plan.

My goal is to provide the best medical care available to get my patients back to their healthy and active lifestyle as quickly and safely as possible. I believe in personalizing care for my patients through a shared decision-making process. I achieve this by providing a thorough understanding of their condition and the different treatment options available to them to develop the customized treatment plan that best accomplishes their goals.

When I am not practicing medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, golfing, skiing, hiking, and attending about any sporting event.
