Scott Spengel, D.C.
Thank you for entrusting me with your care! I look forward to helping you achieve improved function and quality of life.
I’d like to share a little of my education background and my patient care philosophy. The influences that led me to become a chiropractic practitioner started in my childhood.
At age nine, my parents took me to a local chiropractor to treat my persistent headaches. The care I was given was very successful and my headaches were relieved.
When I was 12, I injured my lower back while water-skiing. At the time, taking it easy and resting led to my pain eventually diminishing. But a couple of years later, simply taking a swing at the ball while playing high school baseball caused me to drop to the ground with severe lower back pain. Recalling my earlier successful relief from headaches, I returned to the same chiropractor who once again brought relief from my pain. The impact of how successful chiropractic treatments were at relieving pain and allowing me to return to playing high school sports, including football, made a big impression on me. It was through those experiences that I decided that I wanted to become a chiropractor myself and bring those types of often life-changing results to others.
Following undergraduate studies at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, I enrolled at the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where I graduated with honors with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
At OrthoIllinois, I bring my 30+ years of experience in the practical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries and provide treatments, including spinal decompression and manipulation, to relieve pain in the joints and muscles. My first goal with every new patient however, has always been to determine if chiropractic services are appropriate for their condition, and if it is not, to ensure that I make a referral to the type of specialist best equipped to help that patient. My care philosophy is grounded in keeping my patients’ best interests my priority.
My practice has been based in the McHenry area for over 30 years. I have deeply enjoyed being a part of the McHenry Community and getting to know so many residents through providing their chiropractic treatment. I look forward to offering you the same high level of care that I have had the privilege of offering friends and neighbors over the years.
