Husna Siddiqui, MD
Welcome to OrthoIllinois!
I greatly appreciate that you have selected me to provide care for your arthritis or autoimmune condition and look forward to working together building a pathway to your improved quality of life. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my care philosophy.
I believe it is widely understood that twins have a very special connection. As a twin myself I know that the connection I have with my sibling helped lead me to become a medical doctor and influenced my care philosophy. When we were both in our early teens, my brother became very ill and was diagnosed with meningitis, which can be a life-threatening condition. He was hospitalized for more than a month.
Because I was underage, I was not allowed to visit him in the hospital. His illness caused me a great deal of pain and sorrow and an intense feeling of helplessness worrying he might be lost to me permanently. Through this experience, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine so I could help patients control their illnesses in an outpatient setting without having to be separated from their loved ones during a time when having that support is so vital.
Following my graduation from Gulf Medical University in Ajman, United Arab Emirates where I earned both my undergraduate and medical degrees, I completed my Internal Medicine residency training at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center in Ohio. I followed that training with focused additional training in Rheumatology as a Fellow at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
I chose to specialize in Rheumatology because I believe it is one of the most complex subspecialties of medicine. It not only requires a great deal of knowledge about the immunology of the human body, but also allows me to prevent severe illness through good outpatient practice. In my practice at OrthoIllinois, I treat all varieties of adult rheumatology and autoimmune conditions. I believe that when I made the decision to become a physician, I took on the responsibility of not only treating my patients, but also teaching them how to advocate for themselves and their own health. I strive to make all my patients feel empowered and fully at ease as a partner in their treatment pathway without hesitation or inhibition to sharing their concerns, questions, or worries.
When I am not practicing medicine, my husband and two children become the focus of my world. I enjoy spending every possible moment with them, but when I am not with them I love reading and enjoy all genres.
I look forward to meeting you and working together to bring you improved quality of life.
Sincerely,
