PM&R / Spine Care
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physicians (also referred to as “PM&R”, or Physiatrists) specialize in the evaluation and conservative treatment of patients with a wide-variety of problems in muscle, bone, nerve, and soft tissues and many patients with disabilities and impairment of function, including interventional spine care for acute and chronic neck and back pain.
Our specialists employ a multimodal approach to the patient’s symptoms starting with a comprehensive evaluation to identify the cause of a patient’s pain. When indicated they employ electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCV), physical diagnostics, and various imaging studies before working together with the patient to design a comprehensive conservative treatment plan. This can include medication, physical therapy, and spinal injection procedures. Each patient undergoes an individualized rehabilitation program to achieve their maximum functional potential. Our goal is to expedite the restoration of function to enable the patient to participate in gainful employment, take part in recreational sports, and enjoy a quality of life with family and friends.
Our PM&R specialists work closely with our spine surgeons and offer alternative spine care treatments for patients who do not require or do not wish to undergo surgical treatment.
